The unintended expat blogger behind Lorsa Vique Ntir

Hello, I am Sofia
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. I’m an expat residing in Rome, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn’t in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
Those initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of learning by doing characterized those days. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Lorsa Vique Ntir
Much online information was either corporate-level relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical experience from living in Italy
- Focused on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something genuinely changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism board resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
